ITDC Expands Natural Gas Infrastructure to Enhance Sustainability at Beach Resort in Nusa Dua

The Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), through its subsidiary Nusantara Utilitas (NU), is expanding the natural gas infrastructure network at the beach resort in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali. This initiative aims to support the resort’s sustainability efforts by reducing carbon emissions and promoting an eco-friendly tourism experience.
Enhancing Sustainability with Natural Gas
ITDC NU President Director A.A Istri Ratna Dewi emphasized the significance of this project in transforming the beach resort in the Nusa Dua area into a premier, environmentally conscious destination. “Our goal is to create a greener, more sustainable tourism experience in one of Bali’s most iconic areas,” she stated.
The company has partnered with several luxury hotels and restaurants within Nusa Dua Beach Resort to supply natural gas, with a total monthly capacity of up to 67,029 standard cubic meters (Sm3). The company has partnered with third-party organizations to develop a comprehensive clean water pipeline network for the resort’s needs. This initiative guarantees exceptional hospitality services throughout the expansive 350-hectare resort area, enhancing guest experiences.

Clean Water Distribution for Hospitality Needs
Beyond natural gas, ITDC is also focusing on providing a reliable supply of clean water to Resort in Nusa Dua. The company has partnered with third-party organizations to create a comprehensive clean water pipeline network throughout the expansive resort area. This initiative guarantees exceptional hospitality services across the entire 350-hectare resort, enhancing the guest experience significantly.
As of early January 2025, the clean water infrastructure is 88.5% complete. The initial water distribution to various in Nusa Dua hotels will begin on February 1, reinforcing the resort’s commitment to high-quality service and sustainability.
Boosting Tourism Performance at Nusa Dua Beach Resort
These infrastructure improvements come when beachfront resort in Nusa Dua is experiencing significant tourism growth. In 2024, the area welcomed 2.7 million domestic and international visitors, a 40% increase from the previous year.

With 22 luxury hotels and over 5,500 rooms, the resort attracts high-end travellers seeking comfort and sustainability.
