Interests is the most important factor when you consider to enrol the kids to surf camp. They need to genuinely show interest to learn about surfing by their own. If you push them to the surfing camp against their wishes, it would only grow their resentment to surfing.

You may have been taking them to many surfing beaches ever since they are babies. They might even have share a surf board with you since they are 3 years old. If your kiddos do express interest in surfing and has gone to many surfing beaches with you, they definitely have enough experiences to enrol in kids surf camp. This should go without saying. You know your kids are ready for a summer surf camp when they get all comfortable in the water. They should be confident with their swimming skills—and they don’t get intimidated easily with the ripples and the rolling waves.

They have reached certain age to go to kids surf camp

If your kids are still as young as three to four years old, you might want to wait for a couple of years before they are ready to get enrolled at the surf camps. Even when they have expressed genuine interest in surfing. Kids could start their surf camp as early as six years old. You will find most children at the surf camp range between 8 – 10 years old. Make sure your kids are enrolled with their peers of the same age and level. You don’t want unnecessary competition stress them out on the surf camp.

Lastly, you need to know how good the kids could manage themselves in an extended period without you. Did your kids have successful sleepover? Were they asking to stay longer? Did they exhibit nervousness or anxiety when they are away from you? Can they brush their teeth and hang their towels without you asking? If they can manage their nervousness and take a good care of themselves, they might be ready for sleepaway at kids surf camp.
